The Workshop Leaders
Deboah Latham
Deborah has a background in nursing and mental health training in the National Health Service and for Third Sector organisations. This has been interwoven with and influenced by a lifelong journey of self-discovery through various practices: yoga, Sufism and, more latterly, a Buddhist mindfulness approach.
Deborah finds freedom through creative expression including art, writing, singing and dancing and she is easily encouraged to break into song!
Now several years into her 60s, she is discovering how to live fully in this new phase of life. She has recently become a certified sage-ing leader with Sage-ing International and is feeling passionate about making opportunities to learn from each other and offer mutual support as we encounter the joys and challenges of the ageing process.
Charlie Ivermee
Charlie is a graduate of the Sage-ing International Certified Sage-ing Leader programme and has also been a residential volunteer coordinator at the Barn Retreat Centre on the Sharpham Estate near Totnes where he has co-led ageing retreats for a number of years.
He is particularly is excited by the ways that our
behaviour and beliefs strongly affect the quality of
our lives as we age. "I approach my life with
curiosity, energy and joy and with acceptance that
life is not always a bowl of cherries. I am filled with
surprise and gratitude that at the age of 79, life
continues to expand and grow".
